Internet All you need to get started is a connection to an Internet Service Provider, such as a cable modem, digital subscriber line, or a wireless connection. The higher the speed the better, as this is the bottleneck in the system. A reasonable rule of thumb to estimate the speed requirement in the forward direction is to use 250Kb/s for every 8 rooms. And about 1/3 of that in the reverse direction. For example, 64 room property should have at least a 2Mb/s connection in the forward direction and 600Kb/s reverse. Infrastructure The wireless infrastructure, paradoxically, requires cabling from the point at which the internet enters the building to the access point. This cabling is standard Ethernet CAT 5/e, we can install it for you or you can do it yourselves. We will terminate each cable and test it prior to installing access points. Each access point is powered by the Ethernet cabling, eliminating the need to have electrical outlets and enabling them to be positioned in attics, crawl spaces, suspended ceilings and even on the outside of the building, but in a waterproof enclosure. The access points require no regular maintenance or tuning once installed. Backroom Backroom functionality provides a secure, seamless environment for your guests to get onto the internet.
