IPTV

B2Digital, Inc. (BTDG.PK) is exploding into the Internet Services and burgeoning Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) markets. We are currently perfecting our technologies utilized to convert standard cable television networks into streaming digital network television systems through the use of digital compression technology. Under this concept , we will be able to provide subscribers not only high speed cable internet services but total DVD quality video and HDTV services in a single high speed delivery medium.

IPTV is a system where digital information is delivered using the Internet Protocol over a computer network infrastructure, rather than being delivered through traditional formats and cabling. In any digital information delivery system, the volume of content that can be delivered is limited by the bandwidth available in the delivery medium. In a traditional format network, all of the available viewing content constantly flows downstream to each customer, and the customer chooses the viewable content at the set-top box. The customer can select from as many choices as the service provider can fit into this pipe flowing into the home. An IP-based platform works differently. Content remains in service provider's network, and only the content the customer selects is sent into the customer's home. Under this system, the customer's choice is less restricted by the size of the pipe into the home and more bandwidth is freed up to deliver more available content to the customer.

By freeing up this available bandwidth, we are able to deliver a broader range of digital services using existing delivery mediums. The IP-based platform offers significant advantages over traditional information delivery systems including the ability to integrate television with other IP-based services like high speed Internet access and VoIP, the ability to offer the viewer a more interactive and personalized viewing experience and most importantly, increased bandwidth availability.

Challenger DTTS-7000 Digital Compression Transmission System

In conjunction with transparent Video Systems (http://www.transparentvideo.net/), we have co-developed and recently begun testing of the Challenger DTTS-7000 Digital Cable Transmission System to implement these systems. The initial test of the Challenger box is the culmination of many years of research and development designed to create a system that would deliver true IPTV content through co-axial cable to customers of existing cable companies. The potential of this new box is tremendous, as it offers numerous advantages over existing hardware infrastructures including:

  • Delivery of DVD quality content through an analog network over co-axial cable;
  • The addition of more pay-per-view channels easier and without the costs of purchasing expensive tank filters due to the 1:7 compression feature of the Challenger box;
  • Smaller cable providers will be able to overlay and underlay internet services onto their existing technology platform, using existing bandwidth, as a result of the considerable digital compression features afforded with the Challenger box;
  • An emergency alert system that eliminates the need for the smaller cable provider to purchase the emergency alert system infrastructure;
  • Control over the customer experience by allowing cable providers their own TV Guide through an internet-based format, as well as channel re-alignment features and numerous other features without any need to communicate with an uplink; and
  • Significantly reduced costs. The accompanying set-top box for the Challenger box costs approximately $80 versus $300 for competing set-top boxes.
